Swing Bed
Bibb Medical Center provides extended care to patients unable to care for themselves at home while recovering from an illness or injury. These services may ease the stress for you and your family.
ELIGIBILITY
Swing Bed care is covered by Part A Medicare and other Medicare-related insurances.
Skilled care is usually provided for 20 days (with the exception of some insurances) but may be longer if authorized by an insurance carrier. For Medicare patients the first 20 days are reimbursed 100%, days 21-100 there is a coinsurance that is due daily. A Medicare patient is allowed 100 days of skilled care before benefits are exhausted. For Medicare there is a 3 midnight Acute Care stay required and must be certified by a physician.
